About MAWD

I grew up in Santa Monica, California where I went to school from elementary through my first 2 years of college. I have always been inspired by the beach, it’s beautiful sunsets and pounding waves. Also, in this big city I have learned to appreciate the colorful cultures from all across the world.

Raised by a single mother, I had a liberal upbringing. Growing up, I was fortunate enough to have been exposed to art, music, dance, sports, literature, and world travel. It is a life of diverse people and experiences that has led me to a path of creativity.

I graduated with a Bachelors degree in Fine Arts and Design and a Minor in Film and Media from the Art Institute of Chicago in Chicago, Illinois. After graduation, I have lived in other major cities such as San Francisco and New York City working in traditional media such as art, film, and video. I moved back to Los Angeles in 2000 working as a graphic and web designer and web developer. My professional affiliations include MySpace (Fox Interactive) and Spike.com (MTV).
